The Law of Attraction Explained

The law of attraction is a belief system that suggests that positive thoughts and intentions have an ability to manifest or create real things in your life.

The central principle of the law of attraction is that your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs actively shape your reality.

Supporters of this belief system argue that by focusing on positive affirmations and goals with an optimistic attitude, you can literally attract health, wealth, happiness, success, and all of your desired outcomes into your experience.

The roots of the law of attraction stem from 19th century movements like New Thought and positive thinking. It gained prominence again in recent decades through books like “The Secret” which argued that the universe rewards people for specific visions, intentions, and desires they put out into the world.

Your mental state and energy operates almost like a magnet, drawing positive or negative results into your life depending on what you choose to focus on, believe, and feel.

People who follow the law of attraction try to achieve their vision of success by cultivating affirmations, visualizations, wish lists, optimism, passion, gratefulness and other positive mental habits.

Skeptics argue that any positive outcomes are more likely the result of normal effort, persistence, and making plans to achieve realistic goals in line with the ordinary workings of the world.
